Peter Arender, CFA is CEO & Chief Investment Officer. He has over 30 years’ varied experience in financial markets and joined Fortress in 2009. Prior to that, he was Chief Investment Officer of a privately held offshore bank in Barbados. Previously, he was portfolio manager at Acker Finley Asset Management in Toronto, and a Vice President of Institutional Bond Sales at Toronto Dominion Securities. His work has focused on developing and applying highly disciplined, long-term strategies to the portfolio management process. He is a past member of the board of the CFA Society Barbados, and a past president of the CFA Society Toronto.

Dionne Thompson, BSc, FCCA is the Chief Financial Officer. She joined Fortress in 2006 and is a qualified accountant. Dionne previously worked as a manager in the Advisory Services Division at PwC Barbados with over seven years’ experience in various roles at the professional services firm. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados and the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants.

Simon Evelyn is the Manager, Fund Administration at Fortress Fund Managers. He joined Fortress in 2006 as Fund Administrator for the Caribbean Growth, High Interest and Pension Funds. Simon became a member of the Fortress team after 14 years in commercial banking; primarily working in wealth management, investments, fund administration and custodial services.

Shomari Simpson-Sealy joined Fortress Fund Managers in 2024 as Senior Manager – Pensions. Before heading our pension department, Shomari held progressively more senior roles over 14 years at actuarial firm Eckler Ltd. He has extensive and varied experience in all aspects of pension administration and related project management. He is also a well-advanced actuarial candidate with the Society of Actuaries.
